A Safe Step On The Scaffold
Scaffolding is used on construction sites to give workers a comfortable workspace to be on while at different heights. It consist of a ladder type puzzle that has different sizes of planks that connect at different levels for walking and working. The scaffolding has planks that attach to it to allow the workers to walk over and store their supplies on. The type of planks vary between timber to steel, but a popular option that is used on many work sites is Aluminum Scaffolding Planks. These vary in different sizes that change the weight capacity it can hold. Choosing the right planks for the job at hand help all workers have a safe site.
There are Aluminum Scaffolding Planks that vary in size to allow one or two workers to stand on it. The weight capacity is something to keep an eye on so that the weight of workers and materials or tools on one plank does not become too much causing the plank to be unstable, A smaller one person plank option would be the 14" wide Aluminum Extension Plank by Badger ladder and scaffold. These planks have an extension to give the versatility of 6' to 17'. These are one person only as their weight load holds no more then 250, but they are very handy on the job site as they adjust to the sites needs. These run around $150.00 and for a one person plank, they don't get much better.
An option if there is going to need to be more then one person on the plank would be the Werner 500-pound duty rating two-person aluminum scaffolding plank. These have vinyl coated end caps for safety, as well as individual slip-resistant decking to reduce material build up and help with footing. These can be supported with stepladders or extension ladders for even more versatility. These run around $350.00 and are a great option for heavy duty support.
